The Bitter Root part: 3

A Bitter Root Defiles

To defile is to make foul, dirty, or unclean.

Paul writes: Hebrews 12:15 (NKJV) looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled;

To willfully allow a roots of bitterness to grow in your life is as if you are allowing satan in! Such things like anger, resentment and Hate will just grow and grow and begin to cover and affect everything around you. A defiled spirit will affect your walk with God, to the degree where you exclude GOD, from your life. A defiled spirit will eventually dim and scorch the principle element of your spirit.

A defiled spirit may lead to a false perception of God and His truth. A defile person will get so angry at something to the point where everything coming out of them is bitterness, spite and resentment. People who are angry, who hate, who are resentful and critical are usually never satisfied unless they can influence others to feel the same way. Misery loves company, they love to have other people agree with them.

Naomi lost her husband and 2 sons in a famine. So, Ruth & Naomi go back to Bethlehem.

Ruth 1:19-21 (NKJV) 19 Now the two of them went until they came to Bethlehem. And it happened, when they had come to Bethlehem, that all the city was excited because of them; and the women said, "Is this Naomi?" 20 But she said to them, "Do not call me Naomi; call me Mara, for the Almighty has dealt very bitterly with me. 21 I went out full, and the LORD has brought me home again empty. Why do you call me Naomi, since the LORD has testified against me, and the Almighty has afflicted me?"

What she was saying, God did this to me, she was bitter towards God. Why didn't God stop this from happening? Why is God allowing me go through this? God I know you didn't cause this, but you could have stop it. We all can go back and fine a Root of Bitterness that had took hold. A failed marriage! A failed business. Bad financial situation or bad investments A death of a love one (Why did she or he have to die?)

We are so quick to blame GOD!

God can't act out of His Character, He is Immutable: This simply means that God never changes. It is why the Bible says, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever."

God is a Sovereign God; it makes Him absolutely free to do what He knows to be best. God is in control of everything that happens. Man still has a free will, and is responsible for his choices in life. That's why there is so much sin, so much death and so much sickness in this world.

God could have done something; God could have stop it. NO!

Things happen in our lives, because we live in a fallen world, and if we aren't careful we may fall in that same line of thinking as the world. It may be the cause of a Root of bitterness to develop towards God.

God Bless, Israel - part 4 to follow
