The concept in spiritual battles emphasizes on the need for preparation, discernment, and reliance on God’s divine guidance to overcome spiritual adversities. Whether or not we want to accept it, we are in the midst of a battle. All around us there is a battle taking place in the Spiritual realms. Understanding the dynamics of the battle, and how we are to engage the enemy is vital if we want victory.
Psalms 18:3-5 (NLT)
3 called on the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and he saved me from my enemies. 4The ropes of death entangled me; floods of destruction swept over me. 5The grave wrapped its ropes around me; death laid a trap in my path.
When you are going through some kind of spiritual attack, take a step back and ask yourself what is the enemy's attack and try to see the trial or stronghold.
Ask yourself these questions:
Who/what are my enemies?
What are the ropes of death? (Spiritual Death)
What are the bondage techniques the enemy is using?
What is destructive in my life?
What are the traps?
Ask the Lord to reveal what is the enemy attack. Just call on God.
Psalms 18:6 (NLT)
But in my distress, I cried out to the Lord; yes, I prayed to my God for help. He heard me from his sanctuary; my cry to him reached his ears.
Call on Him and watch God step in, trust Him to dismantle the enemy attack and confuse the enemy. Know that God moves on your behalf to weaken the enemy, God wrecks the enemy’s plans so that you can have the upper hand. Who or whatever is coming up against you is coming up against God. Why does God step in? Because we have shown up for Him and He delights in us. God equips us with a spiritual battle plan.
Psalms 18:32-36(NKJV)
32It is God who arms me with strength, And makes my way perfect. 33 He makes my feet like the feet of deer, And sets me on my high places. 34 He teaches my hands to make war, So that my arms can bend a bow of bronze. 35 You have also given me the shield of Your salvation; Your right hand has held me up, Your gentleness has made me great. 36 You enlarged my path under me, So my feet did not slip.
Think about how God is equipping you. The fight and battle you think you can’t win because the mountain is so steep you WILL be able to climb. As scripture promises, He will make you sure-footed! It’s a partnership! The battle doesn’t stop there, most often there is persistence, perseverance, and refining that you go through by battling beside God.
The battle plan your need to defeat the enemy
Psalms 18:37(NIV)
37 I pursued my enemies and overtook them; I did not turn back till they were destroyed.
After God confuses the enemy and arms you, it’s time to fight! If you want to be free from that attack, YOU need to battle, you have been equipped, knowing that the enemy has already been weakened, don’t stop until the attack is DEFEATED. You don’t need to be afraid, because God is with you! God has anointed you.
Psalms 18:43 (NLT)
43 You gave me victory over my accusers. You appointed me ruler over nations; people I don’t even know now serve me.
After He helps you defeat the enemy, He will anoint you, His gifts and blessing wash over you and God will heal your wounds and restores broken heart. Because God is so good, He anoints you, takes care of your wounds, washes your feet, whispers in your ear, and takes you to high places. Then you GET to praise Him and say: “My God did that!” Through that, we create ripples on ripples of revival. Not only that, you are free from the things of this world!
This battle plan is something that we have to execute every time something comes at us. Ask the Lord to help you. The best part of this battle plan is that the outcome is clear! We win!
God Bless, Israel
