We as Christians have an advantage over non-believers when facing difficult decisions. We not only know that God has already planned the way that is best for us, but we have unfailing proof of His will and plans for our lives.
But many of us have accepted whatever can be tolerated in our life. Rather than getting in the perfect Will of God. We have accepted things as they are, and we make major decisions based on what we want or what we feel, rather than knowing the perfect will of God for our life.
When it’s God’s perfect Will, it benefits not only you but everybody around you. If someone has to get hurt or suffer, then that decision is not God’s perfect Will. There are some people who are trying to make someone fit in their life that God never intended them to fit.
There are some habits that you have, that you made fit that God never intended to fit in your life. There are some things in your life, that you allowed that God never intended to be in your life at all.
Romans 12:1-2 (NIV)
1Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God - this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will.
It’s about the benefits of being in God’s perfect will for our lives.
3 Stipulations in knowing the Will of God.
1. present your bodies a living sacrifice “to be put on exhibit.”
God wants you to put your life on exhibit. But we only want certain parts of life to be put on exhibit, we shape our testimony to put us in the best light. God is looking for someone that He can reach down and grab, fix them, wash them in His blood, and restore them then elevate them. But only if you’re willing to let the whole story be told.
The term “bodies” that’s everything that is connected to you. Everything associated with you, everything that belongs to you, everything that’s part of your life. God wants to do great things in your life, but you must be able to put your whole story on the exhibit. See, when God paints a picture, He doesn’t paint half of a picture, He paints the entire picture.
God wants to put you on exhibit, you, and everything connected to you. He wants you to present your body as a living sacrifice. Back in the old testament, when they made a sacrifice to God, whatever they sacrifice on the altar it was dead. But, God said I want you to be a living sacrifice, the problem with a living sacrifice it keeps moving, it keeps getting up off the altar.
You’re supposed to be a living sacrifice, but you keep getting off the altar. You are supposed to be in the word of God, but you are out of the word. You’re supposed to be on the worship team, but you don’t even sing in church. You’re supposed to be in ministry, but you can’t remember what that ministry was. Because You got off the altar. We are to be a living sacrifice, Holy and Acceptable to God.
2. And do not be conformed to this world.
That means don’t adapt to the same pattern of the world, but there are Christians that are adopting the same pattern of the world, and when the world does something they follow right along. So many Christians are being deceived, when they look around and see other Christians that profess to know Christ and they are just as lost as non-believers and then they compare themselves to those Christians that have conformed their lives to this world, they don’t feel troubled, because they think that just going to church they are in the Will of God.
God, doesn’t want us to be conformed with the same things of the world. We need to know what God has created us to be and govern by the standard principles of His word, not the standard of this world.
3. But be Transformed by the Renewing of your Mind
We have to transform our way of thinking. You have to approach life not the way you think about it, but the way God thinks about it. We keep doing things the way we want, as opposed to the way that GOD wants. God doesn’t operate by human logic. The way God thinks about things is the opposite of how we things about things.
Proverbs 14:12 (NIV)
There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end, it leads to death.
It’s the totally opposite way of thinking. God says; If you want to live you have to die, If you want to be first you go to the end of the line, If you want to be on top you have to start at the bottom. God gives us the opposite way of thinking, God says if you want to be rich GIVE.
But, the world says if you want to be on top, push everybody out of the way, and just climb over them. If you want to be first do whatever it takes, even if it means you have to hurt someone, push your way to the top. That’s what the world says.
But, what God is saying, start at the bottom and I will pull you up and when I pull you up no one nothing can push you back. When I elevate you, when I pick you up, no devil in hell can pull you down. When God gives your life, it's because you died to yourself and nobody, nothing will be able to take that away from you. You must transform your way of thinking.
Stay tuned for part 2 of 3
God Bless, Israel
